Here is the finished piece, albeit a little later than I had planned. :)
The sun's final performance before it takes a bow at the end of a West Texas day.
I love how the raw edges of the fabric strips contrast against the crisp outer edges.
I chose to finish the piece using the same facing technique that I used for
Winter Aspens so there is no binding to distract from the image.
This piece seems to pop right off of the wall!
This piece is all about simplicity and letting the image speak for itself,
so I chose to blend the quilting in with the original stitching lines that
attached the fabric strips to the stabilizer.
I used Sulky PolyLite, Rayon, Cotton and Invisible threads
to bring the image to life.
