I'm anticipating a busy weekend, but I wanted to wish you a Here is a bunny I sculpted out of Paperclay. When he dried, I painted him with acrylics and then glued all of the pieces together. I had never tried Paperclay before, but I really like it! This little guy is VERY light, but still feels durable. It accepted the paint and glue well and I plan on using it again for some more projects soon. :) I hope all of your projects are hopping along and
that you have the opportunity to go outside and sniff some flowers! :)

I have had an idea rolling around in my head for a new piece of fiber art. It's different, especially for me. It's not a landscape, not that realistic is the true sense of the word, and I've been working through it in my mind for a while. I knew I wanted a gray background. The off-white circles you see are actually templates for applique. In the picture above, I was messing around with sizes and placement. Next step? Picking the colors for the circles and then the coordinating threads. Then to pull it all together, I picked the quilting thread colors. The white thread you see on the spool, holds a special surprise! All of the threads I use are from Sulky, of course! :) After making all of my circle appliques, I auditioned them on the background to confirm placement. The threads you see scattered,
are the "tails" left over from making the circles. I will use those to hand-applique the circles to the background. You'll have to come back soon and see the next steps that lead to the finished piece! |
