Brightening Life with Creativity,
one day at a time...
Are you attempting to free motion quilt with your machine on top
of a table like this?
Getting the bed of your machine flush with the table surface will help eliminate drag, improve your free motion quilting and help your shoulders not be so sore!
Here is how I have my Janome 6300 machine set up:
I actually have a Gidget I table butted up to a Gidget II table, which holds my 6300. The Gidget tables are a great, affordable option for flat bed sewing. I use the Gigdet I when I use my Singer 301 machine, but otherwise, I leave it empty so I can have the extra depth of work space. Another benefit? They are easy to fold up and light weight, making them convenient for traveling or setting up in another room.
Here are two more views.
You can see how nice and flush the bed of the machine is to the table and the acrylic insert that fills in the gaps. Without the insert,
my fabric would constantly be getting lodged where it shouldn't!
This particular insert also allows room for my knee lift bar to work with the table. If you have a knee lift that you use, don't forget to mention it when you order! ;)
You can find out more about the Gidget tables and
the custom inserts at the Arrow website.
I just received an email notifying me that Winter Aspens
has been selected to hang in White on White,
a juried art exhibit (all mediums, not just fiber) at LHUCA!
The exhibit will be on display for all of December and part of January,
so if you have a chance, drop by and check it out!
