When creativity strikes you, what do you do? Do you run to your sketchbook? Do you rummage through your supplies? Perhaps a little bit of both? After I wrapped up my Christmas gift giving projects, creativity struck! Here's what it can look like for me: Add it all up and what do you get?
A BIG mess! :) All joking aside, sometimes creativity is messy! Don't feel bad about it! I've always told my kids that messes are ok, especially when it comes to art, as long as we pick them up! In every one of the pictures above, there is an element of my latest fiber art piece (It's finished and I'll show you soon). If I hadn't gotten it all out, how would I know what worked well together and what didn't? Sometimes seeing different materials tossed in a random pile leads to another idea or combination that I originally hadn't thought of! So as we blast into 2015, I hope you have a safe new year, filled with blessings and that we all remember:

While, I'm sitting here wishing that the Lone Star State looked a little more like the picture above,
I'll keep this post short because I know everyone is busy with last minute Christmas prep and family time. :) I hope that in the midst of the hustle, or in the quiet between the carols, we can all rediscover the real reason for Christmas. That despite the blinking lights, the bustling crowds and the ever-present message to spend more, we remember that God spent His "everything" on us by sending Christ into the world as a humble baby, born in a manger. Merry Christmas to you and yours! |
