As I type this, the turkey is thawing, the kids are finishing up some school and my pantry is brimming over with ingredients for day-after-tomorrow's big meal.
I've never been one to keep excess amounts of stuff around the house and I try my best not to waste anything. But am I always grateful for what I have? Am I always acknowledging where my blessings come from? I'd like to think so, but in reality, I know that I don't. I realize how many things I take for granted in my life. Not to mention the people...the relationships. I think it's easy to remember to be "thankful" right now, when there are food and coat drives happening on almost every corner, but I want to make an effort to remember it ALL the time. Hoping you and yours have a blessed Thanksgiving!

When creativity strikes you, what do you do? Do you run to your sketchbook? Do you rummage through your supplies? Perhaps a little bit of both? After I wrapped up my Christmas gift giving projects, creativity struck! Here's what it can look like for me: Add it all up and what do you get?
A BIG mess! :) All joking aside, sometimes creativity is messy! Don't feel bad about it! I've always told my kids that messes are ok, especially when it comes to art, as long as we pick them up! In every one of the pictures above, there is an element of my latest fiber art piece (It's finished and I'll show you soon). If I hadn't gotten it all out, how would I know what worked well together and what didn't? Sometimes seeing different materials tossed in a random pile leads to another idea or combination that I originally hadn't thought of! So as we blast into 2015, I hope you have a safe new year, filled with blessings and that we all remember: |
