I hope you and your loved ones had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Here at our house, we were busy, but blessed. For Thanksgiving eve, I experimented on a new recipe: Stuffed Pumpkin For Thanksgiving dinner, we had the traditional menu, but I was especially pleased with how the pies turned out this year: As far as projects go, my daughter finished making the ornaments that we give to various people every year. I'm so proud of her, because she made these all by herself this year! These stars were made completely from scraps! She sewed small strips of fabric down onto to scraps of batting and then traced around a star shape using a heat erasable pen. After layering the backing fabric, she Sewed on the traced line and caught the hanging ribbon in the seam. Lastly, she cut them out with pinking shears and ironed the lines away! My daughter also wanted to make a small case for her phone/mp3 player. She had the idea all planned out, but I helped her with the execution of the details. :) The simple fold-over construction made it quick and easy. We inserted a piece of very stiff fusible interfacing between the two pieces of batik and she sewed through all the layers. Then, I showed her how to zig-zag around the edges. For the closure and to hold the phone in place, she used some extra elastic hairbands and then she hand sewed the button in place. Cute! Were you able to squeeze in any time to create?
Take advantage of the leftovers in the fridge and try to today!

So what so you do when the roads are covered with ice and then snow and you're stuck in the house for 3 days? You stay inside of course! ;) And you bake a cake: And you do some sewing: (I've done a lot of sewing too, but I can't show the finished products just quite yet! Pictures will be coming soon!) And you snuggle on the couch with this adorable creature: Hope you've been making good use of your time indoors and enjoying the peace and quiet the snow brings!
