Brightening Life with Creativity,
one day at a time...
SAQA requested that members consider making small (6 x 8") works of fiber art to donate to the silent auction held at the national convention in Lincoln, Nebraska this April. All of the proceeds go to benefit future exhibitions.
Flashy Coneflower is my contribution. :)
I chose a piece of monoprinted Cut-Away Plus from my stash and drew a simple coneflower on it.
Next, I made a quilt sandwich with a piece of 80/20 quilt batting and another piece of stabilizer.
Using a selection of Sulky 12 wt blendables, I thread painted through the sandwich.
These pieces will be matted, so they requested they be finished with straight stitching to eliminate the bulk.
I love the colors and the finished result! I hope it will fetch some good $ for the cause! :)
