Brightening Life with Creativity,
one day at a time...
After a small delay, my latest piece, New Ideas, is finished!
New ideas form and then join together to make more new ideas in this slice of the brain. The white, glow-in-the-dark neurons carry the energy
through the gray matter.
I free-motioned the squiggles of the brain first, in a solid gray Sulky cotton thread. Later, I went back and stitched the neurons and around each idea (circle) with Glowy (glow-in-the-dark thread). And, yes. You read that correctly. All of the white stitching does really glow in the dark!
Here's another detail picture. I really like all of the texture in this piece. The hand-appliqued circles really pop out of the background and the two different layers of free-motion stitching really create some depth.
This piece was fun to create! A little different from my
traditional landscapes and just a tad scientific! ;)
